We fly when the conditions make sense. If they do not, we wait. That is how good decisions are made.
Weather and flying
Paragliding and paramotoring depend on the air. Wind speed, direction, gusts, cloud, visibility and thermal activity can all affect whether a day is suitable.
That does not mean we need perfect weather. It means we need the right weather for the site, the pilot level and the type of flying being planned.
Elevate uses different options where appropriate, including hill, tow and winch-based training, to make sensible use of the conditions available on the day.
What affects your day?
Too strong, too gusty or the wrong direction can make a site unsuitable. Gentle, steady air is often best for training.
We need suitable visibility, cloudbase and general conditions for the planned flight or training session.
A day that suits an experienced pilot may not suit a beginner. We match the plan to the person.
Questions
Yes. If the conditions are not right, we rearrange rather than compromise safety.
We keep an eye on the forecast and confirm as close to the session as practical, because flying weather can change.
You can, but please wait for our call on whether the day is suitable. We look at more than just a general weather app.
Unsure about conditions?
